i'm going crazy... [30 Nov 2004|05:53pm] [ mood | giddy ] [ music | Baby it's cold outside ] ...in a very good way. i'm not stressed AT ALL for finals, in fact, i could almost care less. whats important to me is what i learn, not what grades i get. plus i don't really have to care, cause i'm not planning on going to graduate school, not planning on getting any job thats cares EXTREMELY about college grade, and not planning on getting any bad grades regardless. so far i've been pretty average, which is just fine with me. my writing class tonight was fun. i think this guy in that class has a crush on me. not the guy that i had a crush on, but his friend. probably just wishful thiking on my part, but hey, doesn't hurt to think about it, right? that class always puts me in the BEST mood. i rode home singing jack johnson the whole way, couldn't stop smiling, and kept tapping my leg like it was a mini drumkit. when i got back to my dorm, i definately started singing christmas songs...nice. _______________________IMPORTANT PART__________________________ I want to ask everyone who reads my journal one thing? There's tension in my dorm room, but I could care less. My roommate and I aren't really talking to each other, but we didn't really talk before, so whatever. I've been definately od-ing on Sex and the City. Tomorrow is Veteren's Day. I'm celebrating by shopping, lunch, and a pedicure. Molly? Molly who? I know, I know. a pedicure? not very molly-esque, but the SatC has really put me in the mood. My poor little roommate and her stupid little boyfriend...they're fighting. Her boyfriend is probably the reason we aren't speaking to each other. I can't wait to have my own place! I wonder why I write in my lj? none of my really close friends read it (cept for chrissie, occasionally). And whoever does read it NEVER comments. I'm definately going through a change right now. good? bad? i don't know. it's the ever changing world of molly brady. i wonder what people think of me...not you people, but random people, like people who know who i am, but don't know me. what kind of aura do i have? NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!!! [07 Nov 2004|02:22pm] [ mood | impressed ] [ music | JACK JOHNSON ] YAY!!! I saw Nightmare Before Christmas Friday night!! Amazing. You guys absolutely ROCK. I'm soooo jealous that i didn't get work on it! SAM GUZIK and KASEY KELLY were AWESOME!!! and JEFF GURROLLA (did i spell that right?)definately looked like an overgrown eddie munster! SAMI WYLLIS is sooooo good! I love her to death! I knew it was her RIGHT when I heard her voice! (i was sitting way way in the back) DAN SAAD was hilarious as Oogie Boogie's voice...plus i liked his costume...haha. Basically EVERYONE was awesome!!! I miss you all terribly. And since you all asked about UCSB, here's the full-length answer: IT'S OKAY...IV reminds me of high school parties from hell...which i guess is what constitutes a college party. not my thing really. I went out last night and...ya...this country suits georgy...anyways...aside from the social part, i really do like my classes. drama is kinda lame, cause i figured it'b be more interesting, but i think i just have a crappy professor. he reminds me of william h. macy with a confidence issue. he always seems really anxious and nervous and waaaay to eager to have everyones attention. its kind of pathetic sometimes. i don't know. i got a 94 on my midterm though, so WHO CARES! muahahahaha. black studies is AWESOME! i love going to that class. i've learned A LOT! don't care what grade i get in there, what i've learned is the important part. psychology is exactly as you would imagine it. and so is writing. other than that, i've been doing well. i'm growing into my surroundings. slowly but surely. i still can't wait to get out of the dorms...and graduate, but at least now i'm a little more prepared. INTRODUCING... [28 Oct 2004|11:13pm] [ mood | devious ] [ music | JJ ] "My First Midterm" by Molly Brady I'm not really going to write a story. it seemed easy, so i think i did well...but who knows... i love when you have days where you feel extremely comfortable with who you are. even more when you get to be around people. I went to a psych experiment today and on the way there i decided to listen to my discman. i rode my bike, sang along, didn't care what i sounded like or who heard, smiled at strangers, acknowledged people i recognized, and pretty much sailed to campus. after the experiment i sat by the coffee house near girvetz hall to wait for writing. i read my HW, drank a hansen's raspberry soda...mmm. in writing we watched the stanford prison experiment. creepy. one of the guys in it reminded me of the main officer guy in Cool Hand Luke with Steve McQueen. "What we have here is a failure to communicate." gross. after the video, we talked about it, and i made a good point, but it was hard to articulate, and kinda funny/embarrassing, but afterwords, i let out a "phew" and fanned myself, cause i could tell i was getting red (HAHA) and then the cute guy, Jamie, laughed, thought it was funny. that was cool. i feel like i have a high school crush on this guy. weird. after that, hmm...ate food, hung out, did this, read, went to sleep...k. post comment

gaah...midterm tomorrow, and i can't sleep [28 Oct 2004|01:40am] [ mood | curious ] [ music | jack johnson ] it's what? 145 in the morning and i can't sleep. stupid midterms. oh well. i'll survive. last night though, i had this weird dream... i was laying next to this girl i knew, and we were supposed to be asleep and she thought i was, but i knew she wasn't. then this guy came around that i knew and started kissing her and not me. for some reason i got really sad and snuck away while they were still kissing. when i got out of sight i realized i was holding something in my hand. don't know what, but i wanted to get rid of it, hide it, and never see it again. so i stared wandering around in the middle of the night. somehow or another the only way i could walk led to a HUGE wide bridge that had tables, chairs, random stuff that would be normal on ground level, but it was a bridge about a lake or something. it was weird, attached to the whole crazy "bridge" were suspended seating areas that you could get to by boat, and i thought that would be a perfect place to hide it, but how am i going to get there? the moon was really bright and everything had a blue tone to it. i finally decided to hide it in a resturaunt setting behind some dishes. then i woke up. weird, huh? i wonder what it could have been about. i'm dillusional, its time for sleep... 2 comments|post comment

i love my friends [27 Oct 2004|01:56am] [ mood | cheerful ] [ music | JACK JOHNSON ] today was an overall awesome day. :: :) IT RAINED ALL DAY :) :: i slept through psych...meaning i'm tot as far as graduating from college goes...hahaha. ooooover it! haha. <---see i'm in the best mood ever. so i slept until about 1-ish. woke up to sarah calling to go to lunch with me. mmm...kung pow chicken! (did i spell that right?) so good. we saw bart at lunch and ate with him. i got really excited cause i JUST learned that jack johnson went to UCSB (i'm lying, i knew that...) but that the song "bubbly toes" or whatever was totally about how he met his wife here at the DLG...first of all I LOVE THAT SONG, and now knowing that it was born RIGHT FREAKING HERE...oh man. i'm in heaven. so i told bart and sarah that, and they totally already knew. i felt like a huge dork. anyways, i talked bart into going to borders with me to buy jack johnson's "on and on" cd. SWEET. i also got Guns N Roses greatest hits. nice. on the way home i got to listen to it. been a while since i heard it :(. <--that looks like a sad DROOLY face. haha. it was nice hearing his beautiful voice though. came back to my room, listened to it some more. went to writing in SUCH A GOOD MOOD. man. i can't get over how sweet today was. we watched that old school experiment where the "teachers" have to shock the "learners" if they answer the questions wrong and the whole thing is to see how far the "teachers" will go...creepy. ate dinner with tyler, pat, and some other guy, and kind of sarah, but she left kinda quick. hung out with them for a long while. almost watched movies, but i had to do too much reading so i postponed it. then i went to the hall council meeting...uh-oh. for some reason it kind of pissed me off, cause it made me realize that my money is going into things that these people decide to do. so if i want to make sure my money is spent well, i have to get involved, so i did. but when i went to the meeting, we voted on like 3 financial things, and every vote was unanimous, so even if i really didn't want any of my money going to that, TOO FREAKING BAD. i left midway. call me a quitter, tell me i should have fought for my beliefs, but i'm too cynical. i don't think it would have made a difference. it also made me realize that THATS exactly how politics works. you have a select few deciding everyone else's fate. poor green party. i got back to my room, called my mom and vented about that for about an hour. and then i went to sleep (NOT REALLY THOUGH.........) ugh. i can't wait to graduate... [25 Oct 2004|03:37pm] [ mood | pissed off ] [ music | none ] ...never thought i'd be saying that again. I was fine today until my black studies class. He was doing his normal lecture, I was paying attention, trying to grasp the confusing concepts and absorb as much as possible, and then he asks one of his usual random obligatory questions and waits for an answer...that no one can give...as usual. and then out of nowhere he laughs and says, "oh ya'll are just gonna do fine on this mid-term" and goes on about how "this is simple stuff" and "come on folks, he'p me out"...meanwhile you have the TAs sitting in front of the class snickering everytime someone tries to answer but its wrong (its funny cause we're stupid, right?). how the hell is that supposed to make someone feel? who is ALREADY STRESSED OUT ENOUGH AS IT IS FOR THIS DAMN MIDTERM, and is trying her best to learn and comprehend, but still just isn't quite getting it. Needless to say, I started crying in the middle of class. I stared at the professor, hoping he would see how he made me feel. I almost got up and walked out. You want to be my teacher? fine! teach me! don't badger it into me just so i don't feel stupid, make me feel smart! damnit, you'd think a college professor would understand that. screw college. 2 comments|post comment

weird...2 posts in one day... [20 Oct 2004|12:03am] [ mood | content ] [ music | ben harper ] okay, so it's been raining all day, and I LOVE IT! rain is soooo beautiful. it puts me in the best mood ever. overall, today was nice. i woke up around 8:15, decided not to go to breakfast...i think...i can't even remember now...i totally thought i skipped breakfast this morning, but now i remember i had pancakes...what the hell?? weird...anyways, went to psych, fell asleep...nice. went home, fell asleep, woke up 4 hours later went to writing. you know how i've been talking about the cute swimmer guy? ya, he sat next to me today, and we just happened to be doing out peer reviews today also, so we were definitely paired...nice. he is really cute. he's pretty smart too. his name is michael, but he goes by jamie. not liking the name so much...oh well. he seems really nice, and hopefully i'll muster up enough courage to talk to him again before the quarter ends. after writing i went home, ate, procrastinated a little and then started reading. that's all i've done...ALL DAY...this is college for me. im choking again...i always do. i've done it three times before, hopefully this wont be number four. post comment

gahhhhhhhhh... [13 Oct 2004|04:07pm] [ mood | jealous ] [ music | humming of the mini-fridge in my dorm ] you'll always find me coming out from behind the shadows just a moment too late. i'm always looming in the back of the mind. why is that the effect i have? when am i going to get what everyone else has already have gotten? maybe thats my tragic flaw...since im a greek hero and all...i always want that static image of pleasure where everything fits very nicely in place, and nothing ever goes wrong, but on the other hand...whenever i get cose to that i NEED a change, i have to have something new and different...but in the end, not much has changed, has it? and i'm never satisfied... what the hell am i talking about you ask? don't worry about it. nothing's going to change just yet. in fact, nothing's going to change for a long while, cause that's just the way it is. 3 comments|post comment
